Mike Savage was elected Mayor of Halifax Regional Municipality on October 20, 2012. Mayor Savage ran on a platform of making Halifax the most liveable, entrepreneurial and inclusive city in the country, principles that continue to shape his work at City Hall and in the community.
He has taken on the role of “Marketer-in-Chief”, and promoted Halifax as a business, tourism and immigration destination across Canada and around the world. In 2015, he was elected President of the prestigious World Energy Cities Partnership, ensuring Halifax and Nova Scotia will be represented on the international stage.
For twenty years Andy Fillmore has been a urban planner and community builder in the private, public, and academic sectors.
Prior to his election to the House of Commons, Andy was VP of Planning & Development at the Waterfront Development Corporation where he oversaw the ongoing development of Halifax’s mixed-use waterfront, with a focus on increasing economic opportunity, enhancing tourism, and creating new public spaces in the city.
Andy attended Acadia University and holds graduate degrees from Harvard University and Dalhousie University.
On October 19th, 2015, Andy was elected Member of Parliament for Halifax. He serves as the Chair of the Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development.

He is a Certified Management Accountant and a small business owner.
